After some four, highly successful, years, the “Old Down” Acoustic Club had to finish.
Starting at the “Old Down Inn” (hence the name!), at Emborough, on the A37, South of Bath, the Club met every Wednesday evening. The Club was run by Cathy Judge, and assisted by Johnny Francis. A fairly large, but sometimes rather cold room, was set aside for the Club. As interest in the Club grew, Cathy decided to present some concerts, with well known national singers and musicians. These were held at “The Kings Arms” at Litton on the West Harptree - Chewton Mendip road. It was later decided to move the Club to “The Kings Arms”.
As the Club became more popular, revenue was used to purchase a good quality sound system. This was used to improve the ambient sound. However, new tenants came, and plans for the room used for the Club, meant that it would no longer be large enough for the continued use of the Club.
As a ‘Final Fling’ a party, with a Christmas theme, was held at “The Blue Bowl”
in West Harptree on 19th December 2007. Pictures of Ray and friends below!

Special thanks to Cathy Judge for giving us such a great club over the last four years.
Also many thanks to Phil (Sound), Brian (On the Door), and not forgetting Pete and John.
