ABERDAUGLEDDAW
4mm Scale BR in West Wales By John Anderson
ABERDAUGLEDDAW (or ABER-DG for short) takes its inspiration from the area known as the “Little England Beyond Wales”, an area crossed by the lines to MILFORD HAVEN, PEMBROKE DOCK and FISHGUARD HARBOUR. ABERDAUGLEDDAW, itself, takes features from each line in an attempt to recreate a terminus at the end of the line from LONDON via SWANSEA.
The layout needs an operating space of about 15 feet long. An additional 6 foot long table needs to be supplied for stock storage. This is usually placed at an “L” to the main layout giving an overall 15*6 foot operating space. The table can alternatively be placed behind the layout reducing the width to say about 4 feet. The layout needs between 2 and 3 operators.
The layout operates with modified and detailed kit, and Ready-to-run stock, representing that running in the late 1980’s to early 1990’s in the West Wales area.
