The Paley Green Tramway is a light railway running on borrowed time. There is little money in the kitty so second hand stock is sourced from around the world. No cash can be wasted on repainting it, so the liveries are multinational. As long as it runs, it’ll run on the PGT.
Paley Green Park generates a fair amount of traffic on sunny days, when the open stock comes out, otherwise the passenger service will be either an electric tram or a few old coaches & an electric or steam loco. The PGT will haul any freight it can find, but this is usually limited to timber to and from the yard at Housleys.
There is a maintenance depot at Barlows Yard where the works vehicles are sometimes found. The line possesses a diesel, an electro-diesel & an electric loco looking like a converted garden shed, and this was built from all the bits hanging around the yard. If they are not around they may be working further down the line.
