INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS PROJECTS
GENERAL MODELLING
Category A: Motive Power (anything that moves under its own power)
Category B: Rolling Stock (anything that has to be hauled)
Category C: Line-Side (buildings, track, non-rail-borne vehicles)
Category D: Diorama (Any railway-oriented scene within the given size restrictions)
THOMAS the TANK ENGINE and FRIENDS
Stephen Ash is planning to build a purpose-built layout on which to run Thomas, Percy, James and Henry. At present he uses Layouts “Sodorville” (Exverton) to run all models, and “Sodor Vale” (Coombe Vale), to run Thomas and Percy.
Mike’s GARDEN RAILWAY
Mike has a secluded garden, just about ideal for a Garden Railway. Club Members usually reserve one club night in the summer, to visit this G-scale model railway, seeing what new stock has been bought Sometimes members try out their own stock on the line.
PROJECTS
This Section provides details of some of the Projects that Club Members are carrying out.
CLUB PROJECTS LIST
TRAINS IN THE MOUNTAINS - N’-Gauge Layout
A German layout, “Bayerscher Wald”, was converted to one which was also suitable for running British, American, and all continental stock. But now, the front scene has been sold, and a new canal scene is being considered.
“AYSGARTH” - OO-Gauge Layout
The construction of a OO-Gauge Terminus Layout, along one wall of the Club room has proved difficult to build. The idea has been ‘shelved’ for the present, and two new layouts are being designed and constructed. Further details very soon!
TEST TRACKS
The club has recently a new circular test track, known as “roundie-round”, and is now building a mini end-to-end test track, which can be exhibited as a small shunting layout.

General View of our Club-Room
Taken during our annual Modelling Competition and Quiz night, held on the last Club night of the year, just before Christmas. This was the scene last year. Note “Somerdale” diorama on the table. Dave Burnett, our Club Chairman, checks the votes, before announcing the winners of the four modelling categories.
